Earthquake: A humanitarian effort by the temple

Dear devotees and well wishers,

We are deeply saddened by the loss of life and property and horrendous human suffering due to the recent earthquake.

More than 12,000 people have lost their lives [source: Reuters] caused by the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on 6 February 2023. This tragedy will have lasting and irreversible consequences in both countries. Humanitarian help in many forms and monetary support are pouring in.

We want to help

The Guruvayurappan Temple of Brampton wants to help and has started collecting donations for this purpose. Our temple will provide Charitable Donation Receipts for all payments channelled through the temple.

There are many ways to make your donations.

  2. Pay at the temple counter.
  3. Please write the cheque to Guruvayurappan Temple of Brampton and mention “Turkey-Syria Disaster Relief” at the bottom of the cheque and leave it at the temple office as soon as possible.

We will accurately record and report the details of the donations in due course. We will deliver the donations equally to the Turkish and Syrian authorities and make sure that the help reaches the intended targets without delay.
