The concept of Gurudakshina is unique to our tradition and parampara. Guru, the teacher is held in an exalted and revered state as they are the spiritual guiding force in a seeker’s life.
Gurudakshina is the tradition to repay one’s ‘guru’ or the ‘teacher’ for the education. This is done out of respect and acknowledgment by the student towards the teacher or the guru. It is a traditional custom of giving thanks to the guru.
Guruvayurappan temple of Brampton (GTOB) has beeen conducting various online sessions and virtual classes for the last few years. All courses are open to all seekers and offered FREE of cost.
Due to Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, GTOB is currently closed to general public and hence it has been a difficult year for the temple financially.
So, we request all students in GTOB’s online/virtual class to contribute your Gurudakshina towards the temple, so that the funds can be used for temple expenses.
We sincerely thank each and every one of you for the contribution and continue to cherish the learning path we have embarked on together.
