After having served the Guruvayurappan Temple of Brampton [GTB] for over 10 years as the temple manager, Mr Appukutan Nair has decided to retire and take a well-deserved break. During his tenure he has been involved in the many transformations that are temporal – moving from Caledon to our temporary location on Father Tobin Drive in Brampton and then to our new location on Countryside Drive.
He had been very active during the Prathistha ceremonies [grand opening] and has been instrumental in streamlining the operation of the temple. He has been one of the pivotal figures in keeping the temple Board of Directors abreast with the temple activities and the board has always appreciated his support. Administrative staff and priests have admired and benefited from his frank and open style of communication, and his support. He has promised to continue to support the temple.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, we extend our sincere thanks to Mr. Appukutan Nair and wish him happiness and good health.
Effective February 1, Mrs. Viji Vattompadam will assume the position of Manager at the temple. Viji needs no introduction as she had been supporting Mr. Appukuttan Nair as the Assistant Manager for the past year. She has been an active participant in the temple’s management committee, especially ensuring an adequate supply and attendance of staff and volunteers at the temple. The Board of Directors are extremely delighted and are grateful to her for accepting the position; the temple and the administrative staff and priests will definitely benefit from her commitment to the temple, her excellent work ethic and a happy and cheerful demeanour.
Mrs. Bindu Dinesh has accepted the position of Assistant Manager. She is well known to all of us at the temple as a member of the Religious Committee team and has been extremely involved in all temple events for the past several years. Her calm demeanour, efficiency and cheerful countenance is something we all have experienced during the Prathishta ceremonies. We are delighted that she has agreed to take on this additional responsibility.
We welcome Viji and Bindu and wish them success in their new positions. A smooth and gradual transition of the managers will be accomplished over the next few weeks.
May Lord Guruvayurappan bless them and their families always.
