Prabodhanashtakam 2023
Lord Guruvayoorappan - Bhagavan, Bhakti & Bhaktas
Born into a modest family, Swami Anukoolananda showed spiritual inclinations from childhood. This inclination was groomed into fruition from the nurturing that he received as a member of Chinmaya Yuva Kendra, the youth wing of the Chinmaya Mission at Chennai.
Tutored in Vedanta at the Sandeepany Sadhanalaya by reputed scholars in Vedanta, Swami Anukoolananda began his spiritual service at Chinmaya Mission centers at Pondicherry and Nagapattinam.
During his tenure at Nagapattinam, Swamiji took up extensive work during the Tsunami crisis. The relief and rehabilitation work, amounting to almost half a crore in cash and kind, brought great accolades for Chinmaya Mission.
Taking keen interest in youth related activities, Swamiji now serves as the National Convenor for the All-India Chinmaya Yuva Kendra. Swamiji played significant role in organizing ‘Awakening Indians to India’, one of the largest quizzes in the world with a simultaneous participation of 285 thousand school and college students. In another initiative of the All-India Chinmaya Yuva Kendra, called ‘Transforming Indians to Transform India’, Swamiji has reached the nationalistic vision to over 20,000 college students in Coimbatore, Erode and Pollachi.
Swamiji is now serving as the Resident Director at the Chinmaya International Residential School at Coimbatore, which has been adjudged the best Residential school all over India by the Education World magazine.
Swamiji serves as a Zonal Director of the Chinmaya Education Cell, which oversees the administration of over a 100 Chinmaya schools, colleges and the Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth University. Swamiji travels across India training teachers and students in understanding, imbibing and implementing the vision of education.
Swamiji’s talks are also generously sprinkled with examples of how Indian culture is replete with practices that bring out the essence of India’s highest philosophy.
