Significance of Diwali
Deepavali (Diwali) is on Monday, October 24th, and your temple will perform special poojas and organize events to celebrate Deepavali, the festival of lights as below:

Lakshmi Pooja – one of the important rituals performed during the festival of Deepavali. This ritual is performed to invoke goddess Lakshmi to bring peace, wealth and prosperity to families and community. Offering per family is $21.
Deepakazcha – Deepavali being the festival of lights, we will be lighting lamps – thookkuvilakku and nilavalakku all around the sreekovils. Devotees can make an offering (vazhipadu) of one deepam for $11.
Deepavali Fire crackers/sparklers: After Deeparadhana and Lakshmi Pooja, children will have opportunity to light up sparklers outside the temple, near the Kodimaram. Temple will provide a limited number of sparklers to children. Everyone is urged to participate along with friends and family.
Note: Subject to weather condition. In case of inclement weather, temple will not conduct this.
Day 1 – Sunday, October 23 evening 6pm onwards:
Cultural Programs before and after Deeparadhana
Day 2 – Monday, October 24 (Deepavali Day):
6:15 pm to 6:45pm – Lakshmi Pooja
6:30 pm –Deepakazhcha – Chuttuvilakku and lighting of lamps all around the temple sreekovil
7 pm – Deeparadhana
7:20 pm – Lighting up of sparklers / fire crackers by children and families
