Chief Architect of GTOB passes away
It is with profound sadness, that we announce the passing away of Shri Vezhaparambu Brahmadattan Namboothiripad in Kerala today (6 January 2022).
He was our temple’s Chief Architect. His amazing depth of knowledge and unparalleled experience in Kerala traditions of temple design and construction helped us make our temple, our long cherished dream, a reality. He worked tirelessly with us from Bhoomi Pooja to Mahaprathishta in July 2019.
A legend in his field
His vision and attention to details have made our temple unique, winning the adoration and applause from every visitor. Our temple is one of a kind because of him. He was a living legend in his field, yet so humble and understanding. He was open-minded and a fast learner. These qualities in Vezhaparambu Brahmadattan Namboothiripad, a Keralite Vastu expert, were particularly helpful in adapting the temple architecture to meet with the City building codes and extreme weather conditions in Canada.
He was the lead for our Mahaprathista which, we all can proudly say, was one of the most memorable events in our lifetime. Our generation was most fortunate to be part of this temple construction and to have known him and worked under his leadership.
Vezhaparambu Brahmadattan Namboothiripad was a perfect match and complement to our Thantri Kariannur Mana Divakaran Namboothiri. Our world will miss him for his vision, wisdom, knowledge, and experience, but his memory will live through our temple for ever and for generations to come.
On behalf of all devotees, we wish to convey our heart-felt condolences to his family and friends and may the Lord bless his soul and provide strength to his family to pass through this difficult time.
